Privacy policy
This website, pestcontrolcompliance.com.au, is run by Pro Pest Control Brisbane (ABN [ABN]). This policy explains what personal information we collect through the website, why we collect it, where we keep it, and how you can see, correct or delete it. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Pro Pest Control Brisbane.
What we collect
When you request a free compliance kit, the form asks for:
- your name;
- your work email address;
- your phone number, if you choose to give it;
- your site's name or address (usually a business address); and
- your sector (for example childcare or restaurants).
When you ask us to resend a login link, the form asks only for your email address.
When you send us a message from the contact page, the form asks for your name, your email address, your message, and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, your site or business, and your sector.
When any of these forms is sent, our system also records your device's IP address and browser type. We use these to stop spam and to limit repeated requests.
The website does not use advertising or analytics cookies, and it does not track you across other websites. Our website host may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
The “Scan. Tap. Sent.” phone on our pages is a demonstration. Nothing you tap on it is sent or stored.
Why we collect it
We use your details to:
- contact you about the free kit you asked for and set it up for your site;
- send you a login link if you asked for one;
- reply to a message you sent us from the contact page;
- answer your questions and, if you ask us to, quote for or provide pest control services;
- keep a record of our dealings with you; and
- protect the forms from spam and misuse.
We may also contact you about related services. You can tell us to stop at any time, and we will.
If you don't give us a name and an email address, we can't respond to a kit request.
Personal preview links
We sometimes send a business a personal link to an example of its own portal. The page it opens shows:
- the business's name and address;
- the first name of the person we spoke to, if we have it; and
- satellite and Street View images of the address. These come from Google each time the page is opened. We don't store them.
Everything else on the page, such as the bait stations, reports and sightings, is example content.
Anyone who has the link can open the page, so treat it like any other link you wouldn't post publicly. Each link uses a random code that can't practically be guessed, the page asks search engines not to list it, and links stop working after a set time. We can also switch a link off at any time.
When the link is opened, we record the date and time, which parts of the example portal were viewed, and the general type of device (for example phone or desktop). We don't record your IP address with this. We use it to know whether the link was looked at, so we can decide whether to follow up. If you ask for the free kit from that page, the kit form details above apply.
To have a link switched off, or the link and what we recorded about it deleted, call us on (07) 3555 7900.
Where we store it
Your request goes straight into Pro Pest Control Brisbane's customer relationship management system (our CRM), where our office team reviews it. Only our staff, and contractors who help us run our systems, can see it. If you become a customer, the details needed to do the work are also kept in the job management system our technicians use.
Our CRM and website run on cloud services. Some of these providers may store or process information outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure and protected from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We only share it with service providers who help us run our business (such as hosting and software providers), or when the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as we need it for the purposes above and to meet our legal record-keeping obligations. After that, we delete it or remove the details that identify you.
Access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us by phone on (07) 3555 7900 or by email at [EMAIL]. We may need to confirm who you are first. We aim to respond within 30 days. If we can't do what you ask (for example, because the law requires us to keep a record), we will tell you why.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question or a complaint about how we have handled your personal information, contact us on (07) 3555 7900 or at [EMAIL] and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
